  • Assists employers and administrators with health plan compliance issues under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, COBRA, HIPAA (including HIPAA Privacy and Security), NMHPA, WHCRA, MHPA, USERRA, FMLA and Medicare Secondary Payer laws and regulations

  • Expertise in a wide array of welfare plan administration issues, including claims processing and appeals, mid-year election changes, leaves of absence, coordination of benefits and document distribution and disclosure

  • Reviews and negotiates welfare plan service agreements and insurance polices on behalf of employers

  • Writes and reviews welfare plan documents, summary plan descriptions, benefit handbooks, benefit policies, notices and administrative forms
