IF YOU RECEIVE A LETTER FROM THE IRS . . .

The Internal Revenue Service’s Employee Plans Compliance Unit is sending letters to sponsors of 1,200 randomly selected 401(k) plans instructing recipients to complete a comprehensive on-line questionnaire about the plan’s compliance with various laws. Plan sponsors that fail to respond will be subject to IRS examination.

If you receive a letter from the IRS asking you to complete this questionnaire, you should consider participation mandatory. If your plan is selected, and you need assistance preparing your responses to the questionnaire, please contact a member of Oppenheimer’s Employee Benefits Group.
