Exclusive Financial Adviser to Numbat on the SPV Financing of Charging Infrastructure by PATRIZIA and a Syndicate of Lenders
Oppenheimer’s European Investment Banking Team is pleased to have acted as Exclusive Financial Adviser to Numbat on the financing of 400 ultrafast EV charging stations by PATRIZIA Infrastructure and a banking syndicate led by DAL (Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing)
On 31 October 2023, Numbat GmbH (“Numbat”) and PATRIZIA Infrastructure (“PATRIZIA”) closed a transaction with a total investment volume of over EUR 140m for the financing of an ultrafast EV charging rollout programme in the form of an SPV. PATRIZIA is investing over EUR 70m through its European Infrastructure fund series, alongside a c. EUR 70m debt facility provided by a syndicate of German banks led by DAL (Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing). Oppenheimer Europe Ltd. (“Oppenheimer”) acted as exclusive financial adviser to Numbat.
The investment will finance the rollout of 400 ultrafast Numbat EV charging stations at locations of the supermarket chain Tegut (Migros Group) across Germany. In addition to the SPV financing, PATRIZIA has provided a convertible loan note to Numbat.
The transaction reinforces Oppenheimer’s position as a trusted financial adviser in the European cleantech space and our capabilities to support on complex transaction structures. This follows Oppenheimer advising among others FuelCell Energy, Plug Power and ChargePoint on various transactions including ChargePoint’s acquisition of has·to·be.
