Financial Adviser to Vandemoortele on its Acquisition of Lizzi srl.
Oppenheimer’s European Consumer Investment Banking Team is pleased to have acted as Financial Adviser to Vandemoortele on its acquisition of Lizzi srl.
On 14 February 2025, Vandemoortele announced that it has entered into an agreement under which Vandemoortele will acquire Lizzi from Forno d’Asolo. Oppenheimer Europe Ltd. acted as financial adviser to Vandemoortele.
This transaction follows Vandemoortele’s acquisition of Dolciaria Acquaviva in June 2024, which Oppenheimer also advised on.
Vandemoortele is a family-owned, leading European food group which operates in Bakery Products and Plant Based Food Solutions, by producing and selling high quality food products with a focus on sustainability from ingredient sourcing to product packaging and shipment.
Lizzi is an Italian specialty player in frozen bakery, manufacturing sweet and savoury pastry, patisserie, bread, pizza and focaccia products. The company comprises of the Lizzi, Forno della Rotonda and SPAR brands operating from its four production plants in Northern Italy and distributing its products both in the HoReCa channel and in large-scale Retail.
The transaction reinforces Oppenheimer’s position as a leading M&A adviser in the European consumer sector and in particular within the food & beverage sub-sector. This follows Oppenheimer advising Vandemoortele on its acquisition of Dolciaria Acquaviva, Finsbury Food Group Plc on its recommended acquisition by DBAY Advisors, Leprino Foods on its acquisition of Glanbia’s UK and European cheese business, Groupe Bel on the sale of its Leerdammer cheese business, and HEMA on the sale of its HEMA Bakeries division.
