Jackson Weis Foundation Golf Tournament

Jackson Weis Foundation Golf Tournament

The Bartok Private Client Group proudly sponsored a hole at the Jackson Weis Foundation Golf Tournament, held at Giant Oak Golf Course in Temperance, Michigan. The tournament featured 32 teams and successfully raised $20,000 to support the foundation's mission.

The Jackson Weis Foundation, founded in 2021, commemorates the life of Jackson Weis, who tragically lost his life at the age of 9 in a motor vehicle accident. Jackson's passion for team sports and his infectious optimism left a lasting impact on everyone he met. The foundation was established to honor his memory by funding youth sports programs in underprivileged and underserved communities. Their mission is to provide opportunities for children to participate in sports and develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. By supporting youth sports programs, teams, and players, the foundation aims to make a positive impact on the lives of young athletes and their families.

Earth Day

Eric and his team took to the beaches to do their part on Earth Day this year. Living, working and vacationing in the local beach towns made it an easy decision for the team on how they could give back and do their part. Safe and healthy beaches are just as important to our local wildlife as they are to beach goers. We often have sea turtle nest on the beaches along with sea lions, dolphins, whales and many other species in our waters and keeping these areas clean is a top priority for the community. It was an honor to have a small part in that.

“On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink”

The Bartok Private Client Group of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is wearing pink every Wednesday during the month of October to support breast cancer awareness.

The group is passionate about this cause because they each have friends and family who have been affected by the disease. Eric Bartok, Managing Director, and head of the group, says, “As a father of four daughters, and working with a team of women with daughters, I hope that bringing awareness and support will be one more step toward finding a cure.”

Interested in supporting the fight against breast cancer? You can join us to help raise awareness and support this cause.

Love for the Game Scores Good-Will

Eric has enjoyed playing hockey since his childhood. He had always hoped that one of his four daughters would want to take up the sport. When they didn’t, he continued to play with some of his long-time-childhood hockey friends, and other skaters who simply enjoy the team sport. Eric learned that he was playing with several Navy seals, and one in particular who shared several childhood friends. This connection turned into a meeting with players who were leading the not-for-profit, Warrior for Life Fund, which included a retired Navy pilot as well. Through this introduction, Eric was invited to skate for a cause.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

On Saturday, October 26th, people all across Hampton Roads made a sea of pink as they walked to make strides against breast cancer. The event was held at Mount Trashmore in Virginia Beach.

The purpose of the walk was to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention, risk, and to honor the lives of survivors. The Hampton Roads’ Chapter of the American Cancer Society organized the powerful life-changing message.

Amy Georges, Eric Bartok, and Victoria Zivic (pictured L-R) of The Bartok Private Client Group volunteered their time to help make the event a success. Read more about the event here.
