Biography:

From an early age, Dan was spellbound by mathematics and logic puzzles. He frequently assisted his older brother with math homework and listened intently to his father’s stories about “SPOOs”, bond yields, gold prices and Deutsche Marks.

These fascinations led Dan to study engineering at the University of Illinois. His undergraduate and graduate work focused on complex decision theory, combining mathematical and emotional viewpoints while optimizing the output of engineering teams. After graduating, Dan entered the field of data science and web technology, honing his client service skills and industry knowledge.

In 2004, Dan joined his father at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. providing continuity to Jerry’s clients and a fresh perspective on the increasingly complex world of financial planning. Over the years, Dan and Jerry have combined their expertise in financial services with innovative decision theory techniques to help clients achieve long-term financial success.

Dan lives in Evanston, Illinois, with his wife and two sons, where they enjoy hiking, biking, and going to the beach. He participates in triathlons, completed his second Ironman California in 2024 and recently competed in the Half Ironman World Championship in Finland. Involved in the local community, Dan has served on the board of directors for organizations such as the McGaw YMCA, Evanston Scholars, the Ted Muller Camp Scholarship, Block Club Chicago and the Evanston Lighthouse Rotary Club.

He is one of a very small group of financial advisors to be recognized in Chicago Magazine's list of Five Star Wealth Managers* for 12 years and has also been included in the Forbes Shook Research list of Best in State Wealth Managers for the past three years.

Biography:

Mike Peloquin, CFP®, is an Executive Director – Investments in the Chicago office of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and a founding partner of The Monarch Group. He joined the firm in 2017 to continue the decades-long Peloquin legacy of providing high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutional clients with customized investment advice and strategies. Together, the team leverages over 80 years of experience to help clients navigate complex financial landscapes with clarity and confidence.

Prior to joining Oppenheimer, Mike worked as a Project Manager at Apple and as an Accounting and Finance instructor at the University of California – San Diego. These roles honed his analytical expertise and ability to simplify complex financial concepts for his clients.

Mike received the Certified Financial Planner™ designation from the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards, Inc. and takes pride in building deep relationships with his clients by understanding their current and future needs. He employs a clear, focused methodology to define goals and create tailored investment strategies designed to achieve them. Mike emphasizes the importance of financial planning that not only makes sense from a dollars-and-cents perspective but also aligns with his clients’ emotional and personal values.

Mike's dedication and expertise have earned him a place on Forbes' prestigious 2023 Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a Master’s degree in International Management from the University of California–San Diego. Mike resides in Wilmette, IL with his wife and their three children. Outside of work, he enjoys adventures with his family, hiking with their dog, and coaching his daughter’s soccer team.

Biography:

Chris joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in January 2015, seeking to grow personally from the firm’s fundamental knowledge of global markets and client-centric values. He has always possessed an affinity for assisting others and he utilizes this passion to help clients set and address their financial goals.

Born and raised in Naperville, Illinois, Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance and Investment Banking; Risk Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Business in 2014. A high school All-American, and captain of the Wisconsin Varsity Men’s Soccer team, he had a successful and rewarding four-year college career.

Chris received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation from the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards, Inc. He holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations and is also licensed as an agent for life and health insurance in the state of Illinois.

Previously, Chris served as President of the Associates Board of the Chicago Fire Foundation. He also served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee at the University of Wisconsin. Chris resides in West Town, Chicago with his wife and continues to play soccer weekly while also enjoying golf and traveling in his free time.

Biography:

As the founding member of the Peloquin Group, Rick focuses on ensuring that every client has access to the resources and financial support they need to achieve their goals.

Rick joined Oppenheimer in 1979 and has held a number of senior positions at the Firm. He is currently Oppenheimer’s Midwestern representative in the Professionals Alliance Group, a strategic partnership between Oppenheimer and other leading regional professional service firms. In this capacity, Rick provides independent investment consulting and management services to private, corporate and foundation clients. Rick has been a member of Oppenheimer’s prestigious Chairman’s Council since 2008.

Rick earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Illinois. He holds FINRA Series 7, 8, 24, 63 and 65 registrations.

Rick is an Illinois native, having grown up in Oak Park. He has been married for 44 years and he and his wife have three adult children and five grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing, skiing, biking and travel.

Biography:

Following sixteen years in banking with First Bank & Trust of Evanston, Lana joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 2016 looking to expand her knowledge of the financial services industry.

As a bibliophile, she gains her major inspiration from authors like Paulo Coelho and Stephen King. Lana’s positive attitude and steadfast professionalism have endeared her to her clients over the years.

One of her greatest accomplishments is volunteering for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, as a wish granter, changing the lives of children across Illinois.

Tracey joined Oppenheimer in 2019 as a Registered Client Service Associate, bringing over eleven years of experience in the financial and insurance industries.

Tracey was born in Chicago and currently resides in Woodstock where she loves to entertain and cook for friends & her three sons and their families.

Biography:

Emily Berkheimer is a Client Service Associate with The Monarch Group of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. (“Oppenheimer”), based in the Chicago office. Emily began her career in the financial services industry with Oppenheimer, joining the Operations Department, where she gained hands-on experience and built strong connections with colleagues. Her enthusiasm for learning and desire to develop new skills motivated her to pursue a role in finance.

Emily graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. While she ultimately chose a career in finance, she remains passionate about fitness, often sharing exercise tips and advice with friends and colleagues. Dedicated to staying active, she enjoys outdoor activities and has a personal goal of visiting all the U.S. National Parks.

In her free time, Emily is an avid reader and movie enthusiast. Since moving into her new apartment, she has been exploring her culinary side and looks forward to improving her cooking skills.
