Our Team

Breck, a Senior Director of Investments at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. has focused for the past 38 years on the area of asset management. He began and spent most of his career at AG Edwards & Sons. Breck and his associate, Steve Sterner, joined Oppenheimer in September of 2009.

He graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He served on the board of the Municipal Employee Pension Plan of Overland Park and Vice President for the Board of Trustees for the City of Overland Park Fireman’s Pension Plan. He holds the FINRA General Securities Representative License (Series 7), Uniform Securities State Law Exam (Series 63), and the Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination (Series 65) and is licensed as an agent for Life Insurance in the states of KS, MO, IA, AR, CA, CO, FL, NC, OK, TX and VA.

Breck currently resides in Prairie Village, KS with his wife and their dog Breezy. They are proud parents to their two grown daughters and grandparents to four beautiful grandchildren. Their oldest daughter is a nurse in Overland Park, KS and their youngest resides in Seattle as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep. Breck’s hobby is enjoying a round of golf and spending time with his grandchildren.

Steve has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. In 2001, he joined AG Edwards in the Overland Park, KS office and met Breck Anderson. By 2006, the two had formed a team that enabled them to offer more services while leveraging their time for client meetings, reviews, wealth plans, and business proposals. In the fall of 2009, the two transitioned their business to Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.

Steve graduated from the University of Iowa in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Economic and Political Science. He holds the FINRA General Securities Representative License (Series 7), Uniform Securities State Law Exam (Series 63), and the Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination (Series 65) and is licensed as an agent for Life Insurance in the states of KS, MO, IA, AR, CA, CO, FL, NC, NM, OK and VA.

Steve and his wife are proud parents to twin daughters who are attending Baker University studying to obtain their Education Degree. While they are not cracking the books you will see them competing in track and field events. He enjoys tennis and a round of golf or two.

Jessica joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 2022 as the Administrative Assistant to The Anderson-Sterner Private Client Group and the Branch Manager. She has a passion for capital markets and as the group’s primary point of client contact, Jessica works with clients to address questions of concern, and accurately meet their needs. She handles incoming transfers, general account maintenance, ACH deposits/withdrawals and assist clients on website usage.

Jessica graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Colorado Technical University. She began her career in the Brokerage Department Waddell & Reed, earning a position on the New Accounts Team in 2012. On the New Accounts Team, she oversaw account creation, assisted with account changes, and fielded technical questions from Advisors or Clients. By 2016, Jessica was Team Lead of Managed Accounts. She went on to organize and lead a client escalation team within the Brokerage Department. She recently passed her Securities Industry Entrance Exam.

Jessica resides in Shawnee, KS with her boyfriend whom they are proud parents to a 3-year-old Chesapeake Bay retriever
