Oppenheimer acted as Exclusive Financial Advisor to Agora Holdings in its sale to IQUW
Agora Holdings, and its subsidiaries, the Group responsible for providing underwriting services to Agora’s Lloyd's syndicate 3268 has today been acquired by IQUW, following the required regulatory approval being granted.
This is one of the very few M&A transactions which was announced at Lloyd’s in 2021 and positions Oppenheimer as a leading sell-side M&A advisor in the London Market.
Agora was established in 2016, and is led by Michael Pritchard, the second longest running Active Underwriter in Lloyd’s. The syndicate has experienced growth of more than 20% 5 years in a row following the 2021 business plan approval, and became a leading syndicate in the Property Direct & Facultative market.
IQUW, Syndicate 1856, is a new Property, Commercial and Specialty insurance and reinsurance business, developing an innovative way to combine data, intelligent automation and human expertise to make smart decisions, fast. They are backed by US-based private equity firms Aquiline and Abry Partners.
